GSF City of Industry Manufacturing (CIM) Donates 120 Backpacks to Beech Elementary School in Fontana, California.
To kick off the new school year, GSF associates through the GSF Foundation donated 12,000 backpacks to children across the country through their annual Back(pack) to School initiative.
In addition to 26 facilities participating in this year’s donation, many of GSF’s customers joined the cause, including Craftsmen Trailer, Gateway Industrial, Morning Star Packing and Taylor Farms, who combined donated more than 1,500 backpacks.
“Partnering with our customers enables the Foundation to collectively make a bigger impact on children and families in need,” said Anna Lisa Lukes, Executive Director, GSF Foundation. “This year we’ve impacted thousands of kids with the help of our associates and customers. Our goal is for these children to begin their school year with the tools necessary to become engaged and successful students.”
Back(pack) to School is a backpack donation program that provides first grade students in need with a backpack filled with essential supplies, so they can begin the school year ready to learn, do homework and participate in class. Providing these academic necessities to at-risk children also promotes and encourages attendance as well as boosts self-confidence.
