Several GSF Foundation Committees have partnered with local schools and nonprofits this winter to help kids stay warm, healthy, and in school. Foundation teams from GSF Opelika, Alabama and QCD Seattle, Washington have collectively donated nearly 200 coats to local children in their communities in recent months.
"Winter is an especially difficult season for families experiencing financial hardship, and Coats for Kids ensures that at-risk children stay warm when temperatures drop.” said Vanessa Hugon, Program and Development Specialist for the GSF Foundation. “With severe snow storms hitting many areas of the U.S. this year, Coats for Kids has been more important than ever in supporting our neighbors in need.”
Coats for Kids is a core program of the GSF Foundation, along with Back(pack) to School, Best Foot Forward, GSFF’s Bike Building events, and several hunger alleviation programs, with Focus on Food most recently launching in 2021. Over the past two decades, these associate-led, associate-funded programs have helped improve the quality of life for children and families in the communities where GSF associates live and work.
