On June 8, 2018, QCD Charlotte Warehouse Manager John Sweat presented a check for $36,000 to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina for Second Harvest’s childhood hunger programs. The funds donated by the GSF Foundation QCD Charlotte committee were raised at QCD Charlotte’s 2017 Inaugural Feeding Hunger: A “No Lunch” Lunch, an event that took place last November where attendees learned about childhood hunger in their local community and experienced firsthand what it’s like to receive a meal at a soup kitchen. The funds will enable Second Harvest to provide over 144,000 meals for hungry kids!
Also, last month warehouse associate Jon Michel Oyer accepted Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina’s 2017 New Partner Award on behalf of QCD Charlotte for the facility’s work on raising awareness and funds for childhood hunger in the Charlotte area.
Thank you QCD Charlotte volunteers for creating this partnership and for your dedication to helping hungry kids in your area!
