In September, associates at the Quality Custom Distribution (QCD) Chicago West facility located in Romeoville, Illinois officially launched their GSF Foundation (GSFF) Committee to help improve the lives of local children and families in need. Before their launch, committee members proposed ideas for fundraisers, such as in-house tournaments, March Madness brackets, and Superbowl activities to raise money for Foundation initiatives.
“Our associates are eager to get the Foundation initiates moving and make a positive impact here in Chicago,” said Daniel Alvarez, GSFF Committee Chair and Operators Supervisor, QCD Chicago West. “Our committee worked hard preparing for this launch, and we are thrilled to officially introduce the GSF Foundation team at this facility.”
Prior to their official launch, this facility gave back to their community by participating in the annual Back(pack) to School program, donating backpacks to Irene King Elementary School. Associates in all departments contributed by donating, assembling, or distributing backpacks. Additionally, this team has participated in the Best Foot Forward program for the past few years in partnership with McDonald’s owner/operators Solano-DeCarrier Management, teaming up to provide brand new shoes to hundreds of children in need.
In addition to volunteering, associates have started making donations from their paychecks to fund future Foundation programs. The following associates have volunteered to lead the Chicago West GSFF Committee:
Daniel Alvarez, Chair
Zach Roach, Assistant Chair
Jasmin Alvarez and Denise Lopez, Secretaries
Jamie Garcia, Treasurer
Michelle Porter, Programs Chair
Matt Flynn, Communications Chair
Welcome to the GSF Foundation family, Chicago West!
