Last week, Quality Custom Distribution (QCD) Washington, D.C. associates officially launched their GSF Foundation (GSFF) Committee, focused on improving the quality of life of local children and families in need. Jump-starting their community involvement back in August, associates volunteered their time stuffing 104 backpacks with essential school supplies for first-grade students in the communities where they live and work through the Foundation's Back(pack) to School Program.
“We aim to connect with the community and ensure that local schools and nonprofits know we stand ready to help children and families in need,” said Donya Graham, Human Resources Supervisor, QCD. “We recognize the importance of providing school-aged children with the resources necessary for a safe and healthy school year.”
During their launch, the team brought in a local food truck for associates, who enjoyed the event while learning more about the Foundation. Associates also pledged donations to help grow the committee’s funds, supporting future core programs, grants, and volunteer events.
The following associates have volunteered to lead the Washington, D.C. GSFF Committee:
Michon Scott
Lester Berry
Vincenta Owen
Samuel Brown
Khiry Taylor
Donya Graham
Joe Pochini
